Stella's Nursery

{Remember to become a follower and enter the GIVEAWAY! It ends today! I'll announce the winner Friday}

My sister Heather had a baby girl in January. She is just one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen! And every beautiful baby needs a beautiful bedroom, right? Right. Here is Stella's darling nursery! I was lucky enough to help Heather out a little bit. With Heather's gift of creativity and a bit of advice on my part here is the precious little room we came up with for this sweet girl:) Enjoy!

{This was before Heather had pictures of Stella taken... I will post what the picture wall looks like complete a little later!}

All photos were taken by the fabulous Marissa Vargason.

Thanks for reading!!! Now follow and go and enter that giveaway:)

spring cleaning:)

{Remember to enter the giveaway! Read the previous post for instructions:) It ends Thursday!!!}

This morning on my way home from a fun consult with Kirsten, I totally got in the mood to go and do what my mom and I call {looking for treasures}. We usually end up at the Salvation Army Store or any D.I. from Provo to Layton! We always have fun, but it takes some luck to find our treasures. Today I was fortunate enough to find some really cute books that match my living room perfectly. This is a great and inexpensive decorating trick that really adds personality to a space, and Kirsten is a pro at it! Therefore I decided it was time to have some books of my own.

Also, I am making progress on my kitchen shelf! Hooray! My sister Heather got me my bowls from Anthropologie:

My mom found this ADORABLE vase at Home Goods. $6 people. SIX DOLLARS! It looks so Anthro:)

These two went together perfectly to add some color to my poor kitchen shelf:) It's still a work in progress, but it is coming along nicely!

It's my very first GIVEAWAY!

That's right:) And the odds are very good! Thank you to all of you who have become followers of this blog so far. Your support and kind comments mean the world to me. It makes me so happy that people enjoy my ideas and find inspiration on this blog. Thank you thank you! Now for the good stuff.

My cute brother Shawn purposed to his sweetheart Sage last month. They are adorable together:

He went with the theme "The best things in life are meant to be shared". He gave Sage all sorts of little gifts that symbolized all the things they would share being married. CUTE I know. On the table at the proposal, we framed this print from this darling etsy shop:

 Heather from Couture Prints has offered to giveaway the cute print Shawn used for the proposal as well as $20 to her shop to one lucky follower of this blog! There are three entries possible per person.

{1st Entry} Become a follower of this blog.
{2nd Entry} Share my blog link on facebook or twitter.
{3rd Entry} Leave a comment below of which print you would use the $20 credit toward, and if you completed #2 (shared) be sure to include that in your comment!

The giveaway will close and the winner will be chosen next Thursday, March 29th.

Good luck to all:) Thank you again!

Kravet Fabric

Today Kirsten and I had the lovely opportunity of going to The Showroom for Kravet's presentation of their new line. It was so much fun and we learned so much! We loved getting to see all of the fabulous up and coming fabrics. My favorite lines were Candice Olson's and Windsor Smith's. Such amazing color, texture, pattern, and price! Thanks for inviting me Kirsten:)

We LOVED that pink color on the left. So fabulous!

UP! House:)

I was at a client consult on Saturday in Herriman, and I drove past this beauty on my way there:

It was so fun to finally see the UP house in person. Even though it is a bit bright, I think it is absolutely fabulous! It is very unique and whoever designed it definitely took a risk, but it has so much personality going on. What grandma would pass up the chance to buy this house? Grand kiddies would adore her forever! And Up is just such a sweet movie!

Gatehouse Design Classes

My mom and I discovered a lovely treat on Tuesday! In Orem, there is a wonderful furniture store called Gatehouse. We found out that the first Tuesday of every month they offer a free interior design class! So naturally, we went:) It was so fun and full of great information from one of their expert designers. This month, we learned about texture. Here are some helpful hints I took home with me:

1. It is okay to mix a lot of different textures! This helps give a designer eclectic feel to the home.
2. Bright light tends to flatten texture, so if you would like to accentuate texture, use soft lighting in the space.
3. It is okay to mix in dark woodwork/leather pieces with lighter colors (light is the trend right now), use those dark pieces as textures instead of colors.
4. Be sure to mix the visual weight of textures to add more interest to a room.
5. If doing a monochromatic color scheme, texture is very important in bringing the space to life.

This class was so informative! If you are interested in next month, keep up on their blog (click here), or sign up for their email list. Hope to see you there in April!

While I was there, I couldn't help but poke my head around. The store is so beautiful and well styled. Here is one of my favorite rooms I saw. It was divine!

I also found a new color scheme inspiration for my home, can't wait to find pillows!!!

I'm Back! :)

Sorry for being MIA this past week, midterms threw me for a bit of a loop! Last week was also my birthday, so that was really fun to celebrate with family. My husband spoiled me with a new fancy camera that I am so excited to use and post good pictures with! My family showered me with gift cards and a little bit of shopping money to dazzle up my home, and my sister got me those lovely latte bowls from Anthropologie I have been coveting:

I am loving that spring is almost here (hopefully this snow doesn't last too long)! Spring time always inspires me to de-clutter and refresh my home a bit. Here is a tempting project: Anthropologie doorknobs throughout the house. For some reason I am loving Anthro right now. Okay all the time. Yes the knobs are a bit expensive, but I only have 4 doorknobs. Yes in my entire little tiny house. So is it doable? Totally.

What spring sprucing do you have in mind?
